About Far East Chaos

What is Far East Chaos?

Far East Chaos is an independent, online-only streetwear brand built around Asian-inspired graphic T-shirts, sold at fareastchaos.com. Designs draw on East and Southeast Asian culture — Chinese language and typography, family life, food, nostalgia and the modern diaspora experience — printed on three garment lines: the heavyweight Premium Series, the garment-dyed Graphic Series and the lightweight Summer Series. We currently ship within the United States.

What does Far East Chaos stand for?

Cultural streetwear for people caught between worlds — East and Southeast Asian heritage, diaspora identity, nostalgia and modern street culture colliding on premium tees. We don't present culture as a museum piece; we celebrate its messy, funny, contradictory reality. Wear the culture. Embrace the chaos.

Who is Far East Chaos for?

Anyone can wear it, but it resonates most with people connected to Asian culture — Asian and Asian-diaspora communities, third-culture and mixed-heritage people who grew up between languages and countries — and with streetwear fans drawn to Asian visual culture and design with a story behind it. All tees are unisex.

What makes Far East Chaos different from a generic graphic T-shirt brand?

Three things. The designs start from real cultural material — Chinese language, family life, nostalgia, diaspora identity — rather than generic slogans. The garments are chosen per series: a heavyweight 280 gsm oversized blank for Premium, garment-dyed heavyweight cotton for Graphic and a light 153 gsm classic tee for Summer, with exact fabric specs on every product page. And each design carries the reference or memory behind it — the story comes first, the shirt is how you wear it.

How does Far East Chaos bring Asian culture into streetwear?

Through the designs themselves. Chinese characters and calligraphy, family sayings, food culture, childhood nostalgia and diaspora experiences are the starting point of each piece. We treat culture as lived experience rather than decoration — designs reference specific phrases, moments or memories that people who grew up in or between Asian cultures will recognise, and every product page explains the story behind the design.

Why do you use Chinese language in your designs?

Because language carries the memory. Chinese characters and phrases express ideas, humour and family moments that don't fully translate — keeping them in the original language keeps the designs true to the experiences they come from. Mixing hanzi with English is part of living between cultures: some people read it instantly, others ask what it means — and that conversation is part of the point.

What kind of cultural references do you use?

Chinese language and calligraphy (for example 旺, the character for prosperity), Asian family dynamics and sayings, food and drink culture, childhood nostalgia, and the everyday contradictions of diaspora life. Some designs are funny, some are sentimental, many are both. Each product page explains the specific reference, so no meaning is left to guesswork.

Choosing your tee

What is the difference between the Premium, Graphic and Summer Series?

Three garments, three moods. Premium: heavyweight 280 gsm cotton, oversized drop-shoulder cut — timeless, elevated staples. Graphic: garment-dyed heavyweight Comfort Colors with a vintage, lived-in feel — our loudest cultural storytelling. Summer: lightweight 153 gsm classic crew — easy, casual, everyday wear.

Which Far East Chaos T-shirt is right for me?

Want a heavyweight, structured staple with an oversized fit? Go Premium. Want vintage-feel, garment-dyed tees with our boldest graphics and stories? Go Graphic. Want something light and easy for warm days? Go Summer. All three carry the same Far East Chaos identity — pick the weight and fit that matches how you wear it.

Which tee is best for a premium streetwear look?

The Premium Series. It's built on a medium-heavy 8.2 oz (280 gsm) 100% carded-cotton blank with dropped shoulders, shoulder-to-shoulder taping and double-needle stitched hems, cut in an intentional oversized silhouette. It's the heaviest, most structured tee in the range.

Which tee is best if I love graphic streetwear?

The Graphic Series. It's printed on garment-dyed heavyweight cotton (Comfort Colors, 6.1 oz / 206.8 gsm) with a soft, muted, lived-in colour that improves with washing. It's where our boldest designs live, with the widest colour range, in sizes S–4XL.

Which tee is best for everyday wear?

It depends on the feel you want. The Summer Series (4.5 oz / 153 gsm ring-spun cotton, classic crew fit, sizes XS–5XL) is the lightest and easiest to wear daily, year-round. If you prefer a more substantial staple, the Premium Series (8.2 oz / 280 gsm, oversized drop-shoulder fit) is designed as a core wardrobe piece.

How do I find my size?

All tees are unisex, and every product page has a measured size chart for that exact garment. Compare it with a tee you already own and love — lay it flat and measure across the chest and down the length. Premium runs intentionally oversized; Summer is a classic fit. Because every tee is made to order, please check the chart before ordering — we can't exchange for size.

Where are your tees printed?

Every tee is printed in the USA by our print partner after you order, then shipped to you from within the US.

How should I care for a printed Far East Chaos T-shirt?

Machine wash cold (max 30°C / 90°F), tumble dry low, and iron or steam on low if needed. Don't dry-clean. For Graphic Series (garment-dyed) tees, skip bleach entirely; Premium tees tolerate non-chlorine bleach only if needed. Full care instructions are on every product page.
